FORECAST AND SUMMARY.

Present indications are for hirii westerly winds generally, and especially in Cook and I'oreaux Straits. The winds will probably veer to southerly shortly in the south. Stormy and showery weather expected on a.'.l tho western coast and in tho southernmost districts, and changeable weather generally. Barometric pressure is unsteady in the southern districts, but will wobably rise steadily in twenty-four hours. The barometer has risen in tho north and fallen in the southern districts, thereby incrcasinE the gradient and accounting for increasing westerly winds.
