Last evening tho Wanr-anui Education Board passed a resolution thanking tho Minister for Education for his asdsi'ance in promotiug a Bill whereby the scheme for the establishment' and construction of the new Technical College was financed. The board also decided to moke formal application to the Department for tho recognition of the college as a Technical Day College, and for the disestablishment of the District' nigh School. ■ A meeting of settlers, held at Maugamahu on Saturday appointed-a deputation to interview t'ho Prime Minister and protest against tho recent alteration in the system of rating Crown lands iu that' district.
