At the annual meeting of tho Chamber of Manufacturers, the president (Mr. Wunderlich) stated that last year tho manufacturers of New South Walo3 expended seven million pounds more, than in tho previous year. Tho total output was nearly fifty millions. Tho shortage in labour was obvious; all the manufacturers wero looking for good tradesmen. Though not a Labourite, said Mr. Wundorlieh, ho could not help admiring tho administrative capacity of tho State Ministry. They must givo the Government due credit. The volume of imports had frightened some people, but. in tho present state of prosperity ho did not see much cause for fright. The peoplo wero getting very extravagant, and they wero prepared to pay high prices.
