The members of the School Committee are unanimously of the opinion that it is a matter of simple justico that the report in question should be made available for inspection " Tho enclosure read:— "The Hon. tho Minister for Mucation. "I have the honour to request that 1 be permitted to have a full copy of Major M'Donald-'s report on certain matters connected' with Captain Ballachey, myself, and tho Hutt District High School, furnished to you about the middle of June.' I am aware that Captain .Ballnchcy has been refused a. copy on tho grounds that it has bcoi published in the newspapers, but n.s it was stated that the report is not a full one, and as a rumour has come to my cars that some allusion to inyyplf was not published, I consider that Captain Bnllaehey and I have a riglit to ask for a full copy. "Trusting Hint you will see. the justice of my request "I have the honour to be "Your Obcdinnt Servant. "D. M. YEATS, "Headmaster, Lower Hutt District nigh School Committee." Tho Chiof Inspector pointed out that in Lieutenant-Colonel Lovedny's time copies of reports of tho various schools were invari.iblv submitted to the board, but since Major M'Donnld's appointment not ii single report hud boen furnished, tie thought that the board might suggest in a general way that such reports should be furnished. It was resolved to forward tho letter on.
