FORECAST AND SUMMARY. Present •indications are for strone southerly winds, backing to westerly, with cloudy and unsettled weather cencrally. Heavy rain is probable on the East Coast of the North Island, and showery conditions elsewhere. The barometer has a slight tendency to rise, but a further fall is anticipated, especially in the south. Tho Xorth Island and north-eastern Darts of tho South have been under the influence of a low pressure system, which has brought much rain and strone southerly winds. Cold and changeable weather prevailed elsewhere, except iu tho southernmost districts, where unsettled and showery conditions havo been reported. D. C. BATES.
