, NEW FLYING' MACHINE, ' | Designs for a now typo of aeroplano [. liavo been patented by Mr. Joseph Taylor, of Nelson. Explaining his invention to a Dominion reporter, Mr. Taylor mentioned that it' was tho fruit of 20 years' work, and combines tho prov.cd princi- k pics of tho balloon, the aeroplane, tho fliotor-car, the gyroscopo, and tho lieliocopter. ■ Tho upper part consists of a gas chainbcr, GtliT. by 235 ft., constructed r of duralmin, a metal lighter than alumL> inium, and divided into sections. The drawings show an enclosed saloon for passengers. Mr. Taylor Ims , not yet constructed n model.of tho machine, but he stales that ho has worked out every feature on paper with mathematical accuracy, lie' claims that tho ' apparatus cannot turn over in the air and cannot fall, as he has provided for - automatic parachute attachments, but if - tho operator chooses to alight on land or water it will travel on tho surface under s perfect control.
