4 EVENTS AT PALMERSTON. : (By Telcgranh—Press Association,) Palmerston, August 25. The finals of tho Coursing Club meeting were concluded to-day. The hares wove very keen, and there only three kills out of eleven courses.-- Mr. J. Hannan's'Bijou stored a popular victory in the Waterloo Cup. In the Waterloo Purso semi-final Pleasant Surprise (5) beat Lord Cardiff (0); Lifeline, a bye. -Final: Lifeline (S) brat Pleasant Surprise (0). Waterloo Plate, semi-finiil: Cumbersome (10) beat Dawn (0); Curiosity, a bye. Final: Curiosity (4) beat Cumbersome (1). Waterloo Cup, semi-final: Bijon (5) beat Rul'us Dawes (3); Millbank, a bye. Final: Bijou (3) beat Millbank (0).
Tho Wellington Metropolitan Coursing Club has gone to considerable trouble and expenso to, train its hares to the escapes, and it is •expected- that its meeting at Wallacevillo, next Tuesday and Wednesday will prove thoroughly successful. Mr, J. J. O'Danoghue, tho secretary, has already received a number of nominations, including several from the Mnnawatu. The judging is to bo entrusted to Mr. Charles Gough, of Potone. Mr. P. il. Donogliuo will act as slipper ot tho dogs, and the hares will be slipped by Messrs. Alt Hutchiugs and W. E. Lutz.
