"WHY I AM LEAVING NEW ZEALAND."
Sir,—lf lam not encroaching too much on your valuable space and time, mid apropos of the "Press" comments on excess of departures over arrivals, I would like to cite my own case, why I contemplate leaving 'New Zealand. During the last four years I have been enabled to assist to tho Dominion my father and five members of his fa.iiily, also my wife's three brothers, all' indisputably hard workers, myself and wife included, thoroughly experienced in all branches of farming, including dairying. About foiir months ago a freehold farm of ovei 500 acres, with good house and outbuildings, and nearly all cleared flat land, fenced, aud drained, etc., was offered to me for .£I2OO, to purchase outright. Well, sir, I wrote to the Government and explained to them that I had spent nil my earnings to bring desirable"people to the Dominion, and asked the.u to help us to this farm, explaining that it belonged'to an old man long past work, aud that (ho farm was going" back. I received a curt nolo lo the effect that they couldn't entertain my application. I immediately wrote to tho various States of Australia for information regarding land, and I have come to the conclusion that West Australia is the placo for the eleven of us, and hope to swell tho West Australian population tc that extent before 1912. —I am, etc., FARMER.
