WELCOME TO DELEGATES. A smoke concert, to welcome delegates of the Federated Typographical Union, was <nven iu the Titan Rooms yesterday evening. Mr. G. C. Barker, president of the Wellington Typographical Onion, piesiding. Amongst the visitors present were tbe Hon. J. A. Millar, Hon. J. Riff?, M.L.C., Hon. J. Barr, M.L.C., Messrs. W. JonniiiES, M.P., and I). M'Laren, M.P., and Messrs. W. P. M'Girr and H. 0. Jones, former secretaries of the union. The toast, list included "Tho. kins, "Visiting Delegates." proposed by Mr. Swift and responded to by Messrs. ,1. U. Hendricks and F. Christmas; "Parliament," proposed by Mr. A. Walker and responded to by the members present; "The Federation," proposed In Mr. mr. per, and responded to by Mr. R. lergufon; "Kindred Trades,' proposed by Mi-. Sellers, sour., and responded 1o nv Mr. AY. Nauehton (Binders') and Mr. R, II Hustler (Letterpress Machinists); "The Press," proposed by the Hon. .1. Rigg. A number of songs and other iterns were contributed during the evenThc union and the employers will confer to-day in regard to matters of interest to the trade. Mr. P. Hally has consented to preside.
