'A deputation has been arranged to wait on the City Council to-night for the purpose of requesting the council to proceed with the construction of a new recreation ground between the Brooklyn tramline and Ohiro Road. Those interested are invited in another column to attend. Messrs. I'isher and Wright, M.P.'s, will speak for tho deputation. Miss Ruth Anderson, who was killed in the cab accident at Napier was the only daughter of the late Mr. Uiluam Anderson, of Wellington, and niece of Messrs. David, Edward, John, and Allan Anderson, of this city. A wtck ago she left with her mother to spend a holiday in Napier, for some year? she has been xoucerned with philanthropic work in Wellington, and wa.s one of the founders of the Y.W.C-A. of this city.
