Accused weiit into the shop of Yo«nj» Lee, fruiterer, and asked for sixpence worth of bananas. He put on the counter a spurious coin, and said that it was a half-sovereign. The Chinaman said; "Bad money," and the prisoner asked: "What is wrong with it? It is good money. It is pay day." The Chinaman asked prisoner whether ho was sure, ond, at the same time, 6out for a constable, who camo in a few' minutes, and took possession, of the coin.
