Y.M.C.A. BOYS' DEPARTMENT.
The large attendance of 74 assembled to listen to the address given by Chief Gunner Williams of H.M.S. Challenger. His address was full of amusement, education and adventure, but still dopjly spiritual.. Gunner.Williams spoko upon the subject of' Hags, and banners. He explained how the Union Jack was. made up, and had received its name. The deep feeling which people havo for old banners and flags was emphasised, and then the speaker went on to refer to the deep feeling which wo should have for Jesus Christ and His Cross. ' The Intermediate Department held their shooting competition with Auckland on Saturday night, but results are not yet to hand. To-day tho Young Australian Lcaguo are to bo entertained at lunch and, from four to six, a social time will be spent, this including a little tea. On Friday this week the Educational Committee are to take charge of tho meeting, and a lively time is exEDctetl. Next Saturday night the Boys' lepartment are to entertain the representative "soccer" team which is to visit us from Auckland.
