SHOP ASSISTANTS' WAGES.
STRIKE THREATENED IN SYDNEY. By TcleeraDh—Press Afwintten— CoDvrieM Sydney, August 22. The shop assistants' award has expired, and the' union alleges that several large establishments havo taken advantage of the fact and reduced wages. The new beard is sitting, but the unionists state that the employers are unnecessarily protracting tho sittings, and threaten to strike and paralyse business.
