A COMMANDER ON TRIAL.
INDISCREET SPEECH AT A DINNER, By Telegraph—Press A?Gociatkm-CbDyrieht (Rec. August 23, 0.5 a.m.) Now York, August 22. Lieutenant-Commander George, of tla United States cruiser West Virginia, lias been placed on trial on a charge of being intoxicated while on duty. The accused attended a dinner given by the officers of tho Canadian Militia at Vancouver in July, and it is alleged that he made certain remarks seriously involving tho continuance of the friendly spirit between the United States and Canada.
