THEATRE FIRE RISKS.
Sir,—When Mr. John Fuller, junr.. says that only alxrnt 200 pc-oplc have perished in theatre tires in the last ouo hundred years in Great Britain, I am not prepared to absolutely contradict him, because I don't know how many have perished ih fires other than the one 1 saw. But in 1887 I sa.w the theatre in Exeter burnt down during a performance of the "Romany Bye," and then over 150 perished (L believe the exact number was 137, but I have nofr no means of knowing to a nicety), and I think it extremely improbable - that no more than fitly have perished in. other fires. ' I enclose my name, not for publication, though you may give it to Mr. Fuller if he wants it.—l am, ctc.,
