The barometer has been very uneteady, though without decided chance. DISTRICT REPORTS, (From Our Special Correspondents.) Wanganui, August 18.-Fine, sunny day. Feilding, August 18.—Solid and welcome rain fell until an early hour this morning, and was succeeded by a flue mild day and night. Palmerston, August 18.—Fine mild day. Shannon, August 18—Following a heavy night's rain, tho weather is fine to-day. Masterton, August 18—The Eev. A. Hodno reported at 6 o'clock to-night for the previous' 24 hours as follows :-Sha,de, temperature, maximum 63deg., minimum 46dec, mean <!9.5deg.; earth radiation, 40.8 dec: earth temperature (lft. below surface). 50 dest.; wind, light breeze, S.W.; rain, 17 points; wet night; dense fox in the early morning; bright warm day. Cartcrton, August 18.—The morning broke wet, but cleared later, and a fine day resulted. A heavy loe enveloped tho- town for an hour or so. Featherston, August 18.—Fine, bright sunshine; N.W. breeze. Greytown, August 18.—Tho weather was wet last night, and a heavy fog prevailed thin morning. A fine clear day succeeded. Hastings.
