BOILEKMAKEHS AND IRON SHIPBiriLDLliS. The recommendations of the Conciliation Commissioner in tho dispute between tho United Employees' Society of Boilermakers and Iron Shipbuilders of Xew Zealand, and tho employers in (his district, havo been filed with the Clerk of Awards (Mr. K. Stoclwr). In all probability theso recommendations will become the award. Tho hours of labour shall bo J8 per week. i'irst-cla-5 boilorinakers shall receive not less, than Is. -I'd. per hour, ordinary boilermakers Is. 3d. per hour, for pipcwaking and similar work Is. per hour. Al\ boilermakers cinploycd on dirty repairing work, outside tho establishment shall receive Is. per day extra as dirt money.
Tim usual provisions as to statutory holidays, overtime, preference to unionists, and employment of apprentices, are included in the agreement.
