POULTRY & CANARY SOCIETY.
The following is the twenty-ninth annual'report of the Wellington Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Society:—The annual show was held on June 14, 15, and 16, at St. Peter's Schoolroom. Tho entries in poultry and pigeons were not so numerous as last year, although the quality of the birds was of a high standard. The canary entries showed a large increase and some very fine birds were shown; the same applies to the finches, which wero exhibited for the first time at our 6how. The North Island championships for Leghorns and Minorca?, and also tho New Zealand Leghorn and 'Minorca Club's champion Bhield, wero competed for at our show. Tho winners for tho championships and society's trophy, and cujis donated by fanciers wero as follow:—New Zealand championship, Leghorns, Mr. H. J. Meyrick, Carterton; New Zealand championship, Minorcas, Mr. G. C. Thornton, Clivo; New Zealand Leghorn club shield, Mr. J. D. Iremonger, Wellington; society's ,£lO 10s. trophy, Mr. Geo. Jackson, Ashhurst; Frill Cup, Mr. J. Goer, Wellington; Magpie Cup, Mr. J. Goer, Wellington; Fanciers' Cup, for Silver Wyandottes, Mr. J. Currie, Wellington; Fanciers' Cup, for White Wyandottes, Mr. B. Waiiden, Blenheim; lanciers' Cup for Black and Rose-colour-ed Bantam, Mr. C. Brattle, Ngaio. Tho society was represented at tho North Island Association's annual meeting, lield at Auckland, by Mr.iCurrio, whoso report showed an improvement in the affairs of tho association. Special thanks are duo to Messrs. T. Doig, A. Thomas, and C. Brattle, who generously gave their serl vices for the erection of benching and pons for tho show, and to the other members who gave their assistance to make the show a success,
