NEW PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

6 AT ROSENEATH. The foundation-stone of a'new Presbyterian Church to be erected on Grafton Road, lloseneath, is to be laid by Mr. J. G. W. Aitken to-morrow afternoon at 3 o'clock. The origin of tho new church dates, back a few months, when a number of adherents to the Presbyterian Church resident at Roseneath came to the conclusion that the time had arrived for the erection in their midst of a church. A canvass was made of tho district, and upwards of .£3OO was raised, and with this financial basis a half-acre section was secured, and an arrangement was made with Mr. W. M. Turnbull to prepare plans. These provide a comfortablo little building, which will 1 seat about 100 persons, with a rostrum and platform at one end of the auditorium (33ft. by Coft.) and a porch entrance (lift, by (ii't.). with doors at eithe.r side. A vestry is also provided at tho back of the church. The new structure, which is to be of wood, will cost between .£SOO and jEGOO. It is being ejected on tho day labour system under the direction of Mr. M'Kcnzie.

To-morrow, tho well-known drapery and general furnishing firm of Veitcli and Allan will inaugurate a great end-of-sea-son sale, and most elaborate preparations have been made for the convenience of tho large crowd which experience has proved in invariably attracted to tho firm's establishment on these special occasions. Messrs. Veitcli and Allan's sales have a reputation for being thorough-going bargain attractions, and the event of tomorrow is to be no exception to the rule. In another portion of tho paper will bo found full details of the sale catalogue. A careful perusal of the samo is recommended.
