OUR DEFENCE FORCE.
Sir,—ln The Dominion of August 14 a letter appears signed "Radical" in which these words occur:-."That New Zealand hiad, more men under arms than any other part of the British Empire." This is either a printer's omission or ail error on the part of the writer. It should have read thus: "That New Zealand had more men under arms, per population, than any other part of the British Empire."—l am, etc.,, R, ["R" is quite correit. "Radical," no doubt, meant "in proportion to population," but did not make the point clear.]
