August 2fi. The Carterton Brass Band held an enjoyable "social" at C'laveviUo on Tuesday evening, when there was a large attendance. The. Mastorton Hun (Tub lias invited members of the Carterton Club to n sweepstake "shoot" at Masterton on August 21. The conditions are:—Twenty-one clay birds; entrance, 205.; handicaps to be. made by a representative of each club present. The winning team in the Carterton United Friendly Societies' card tournament has received a challenge frun tho Hibernian Lodge, winners'of the Masterloll tournament, The event is to take place on a date to be arranged.
