"AVaiipiH," Aslibiirton, three liciiil of magnificent fat cattle. The purchaser was 11 r. Fred Foirey. butcher, of Nelson, and ho N to lip congratulate.*! on securing what lire claimed to ho the, biggest fat cattle'in the Dominion. A massive, w.ejl-bred red roan bullock of even contour, well-tilled ?kin, and perfect form, wa? purchased at a price which i> :i rc-roril for the Dominion, and the second of the three head, a heavy-fleshed h/ilfhretl Hereford bullock (first, and champion nt Hasting?, ("hvistclnirch, and Dunodin summer shows) was placed. s;cond at the Dunedin winter show last, week, being beaten for fii>t honours by the' foa.u bullock already mentioned. This beast tipped the beam at, the e/.iormous weight of 1 ton i cwt. 3Slb. Mr. I'airey also purchased a purebred Shorthorn " cow (holding an unbeaten record with five champions and twenty-two first prizes). Mr. Fairoy has always shown a keen interest in heavy-weight, fat. stock a.ad has done much to keep the district of Nelson tn the fora in the eyes of outsiders. It is Mr. Fairey's intention to exhibit these cattle at the forthcoming Nelson show, aud theu shin them to Sydney for the-'Royal Show held there next March. The cattle arrived by the Patcena parly this week.
