(Bj Teiecrapli— Press Association.) Christchurch, Augnst 15. Tho Committee of the Canterbury Cricket Association decided to support Mr. Sidey's Daylight Saving Bill, and the secretary was instructed to telegraph the Christchurch members of Parliament askJDg them to support the Bill. The committeD also discussed tho arrangements made locally for parades for military training, tho Defence authorities having fixed certain alternate Saturdays in October, November, and December. It was pointed out that, unless the arrangement was altered, it would mea.n a deathblow to cricket, as youths would not join clubs when they knew that their military duties would not permit them to enter for competition?. It was suggested that tho parades ehould be held on consecutive Saturdays, and should be spread over the year, and not confined practically to the summer months. A deputation was appointed to .. wait on the officxrr commanding-tho district to place the association's viows before him.
