COURSING AT VVALLACEVILLE.

Tlio Wellington Metropolitan Coursing Club held a successful meeting at Wallacevillo on Saturday. The standard of tho sport was excellent; the harts proved as lit as the dogs, anil, being well trained to the escapes, there was only one kill during tho day. Some remarkably fine heats were witnessed, notably those between Gold Dust and Ruberoid, Headlight and Middlemnrsh, Kuberoid nnd Knfns Dawes, and Kilfilcn and Baffles. Mr. Clins. Gough made his debut as a judge, and gavo every satisfaction, his decisions being (riven with promptitude. . Jlr. P. H.' O'Donoghue officiated as slipper, and camo in for praise'for tlie ali-round excellence of his work. Messrs. Alf. Huchings and W. E. Lutz managed tho hares well, and the secretary, Mr. James J. O'Donoghue,' again managed the meeting in a successful manner. Tollowiug aro tho results :— Wallacevillo Stakes (Local). First Bound: J. Higgins's Muldlemarsh (4), beat W. Byron's Non-market (1); C. A. vSchauer's Headlight (1) beat Francis,and Htewart's Tara (1); J. Burke"s Captain Starlight (1) beat V. O'Shea's Lady Eone Kecond Kound: Headlight (!)) beat Middlemarsh (7); Captain Starlight a bye. Final:. Headlight, by Sailor-Nightfall,' (3) beat Captain Starlight, by Warrigal— Golden Eose, and won tho stako. Challe.ngo Stakes. J. Brosnan's Kilfilen (3) was beaten by J. Higgins's Ealfles (3). In this' cdurc'o Iwtli hounds scored three points, but Kilfilen. failed to keep on the trail of the hare, and was disqualified. J. J. O'Donoghue's I'uberoid (5) beat 11. J. Colcman's Gold Dust (2); Riifiis Dawes :i bj>e. Second Round: Ruf-is Dnwes (5) beat Eafflc? Ml). Kuberoid a bye. Final: C. A. Schaucr's Rufits Dawes (i) boat J. J. O'Donoghuc's- Ruberoid (3) after a great course and won tho Challenge Stakes.
