WELLINGTON SHARE MARKET. New Sylvias were the victims of a slump yesterday. Telegrams received early in the morning from Auckland stated that the battery bad ucoh closed down for extensive, and expensive alterations. There was an immediate rush to sell, and the shaves were knocked down to 2s. Bid. yesterday afternoon. The capital of the New Sylvia Company is divided into 300.GC0 shares of 2s. each, of which Is. 7d. is paid up. Consequently tho directors can call up sd. per share, equal to about £6250: The extensive alterations will scarcely call for so heavy an expenditure.
