Wilson and Co., Brandon fatreet, insert in this issue a preliminary notice of sale of ,£BOO worth of Carrara paint, on account of an assigned estate The firm also state that the whole of this paint must be sold without reserve. Further particulars will bo advertised later. The complete contents of an elegantlyfurnished house on Wellington Terrace are advertised for salo by Messrs. A. L. Wilson and Co. Tha furniture, together with furnishings, etc., are practically new, and includo a very fine upright grand piano by Wallis, London, and as the auctioneers have received instruction to sell everything, they anticipate a largo attendance of buyers. The sale takes place on Tuesday next at 1 o'clock. Messrs. R. Hannah and Co., Ltd., are advertising lines of boots ami shoes, which they are selling at greatly reduced prices. About a dozen different lots are mentioned on our "wanted" page as having been specially opened up for Saturday shoppers. Ono of the most expensive clearing sales of furniture which has been held in Wellington for some years past is now in progress at the warehouse of Messrs. AV. F. Shortt, Ltd., of Willis Street, Wellington. The necessity for this sale has .arisen through the decision of the Wellington City Council to set this firm's premises back ten feet, for street-widen-ing purposes. In order to prevent their goods from being spoilt by dust, etc., during alterations, Messrs. Shortt, Ltd., have decided to clear the whole of their extensive stock of high-class furniture at greatly reduced prices. All ftimituro for delivery in the country will bo packed free of charge.
