Tagnicf, a. millionaire owner of oilfields in South Russia, suspected a young engineer named Baboutof of making lovo to his wife, lie invited a party of friends to Baku, including the engineer, whom ho had stripped and tied to a chair. Tho imforhmale man was then terribly beaten by Tagnicf and his servants. Madame Tagnicf was afterwards called and shown tho almost unrecognisable body. She bad a fit, and is now insane. Baboutof died as a result of his injuries, and his relatives have applied for" tho arrest of Tagnicf.
