Mr. It. Galbraith, of InverearriU, who last year was president of tho New Zealand Rugby Union, is on a visit to Wcl ling-ton with tho South Island country footballers. Mr. Christopher Smith, of Oriental Bay, has returned from an enjoyable trip to tho South 'Sea Islands and Australia. The funeral of Mr. Edward R. Boulton took place on August 0 at Puhautanui cemetery. Ho was ono of the Mental Hospital staff at Porirua, and died of typhoid fever. He was only 22 years of age, and very popular among the stall', and was one of their best cricketers and tennis players. lie. was also a prominent member of the l'orivua Rugby Club, and was awarded a gold medal last season as the best all-round player. Tho funeral cortege was over half a mile in length. Among thoso present were Mr. W. 11. Field.'M.P., Dr. Hafsoll, Mr. Holder, Mr. Barnes, and about 30 of the hospital staff; also members of tho Rugby Club, Toa Football Club, and representatives of tho Oriental Cricket Club. Wreaths were sent by tho Mental Hospital staff, tho Porirua Rugbv Club, tho Toa Football Club and (he Oriental Cricket Club, and othci's. The Rev. C. 0. Mutter officiated at tho srave.
