".NEITHER USE XOR ORNAMENT." [Bγ Telcerapb -Press Association.! Auckland, August, 10. At a meeting of the Northern Boxing Association, Sir.-Burke, manager of the Auckland team which competed at the recent championships, asserted that the New Zealand Council was neither of use nor ornament. Any remit not submitted by the council itsejf was promptly thrown out. Hogarty had not competed in the last two championship carnivals, yet was chosen for tho Australian championship hold in Auckland, and being defeated there, yet was selected for the coming championshin, the council passing over Maxwell, of Taranaki, who had much better claims. The association passed ! a resolution to support the Drotes-t of the Taranaki Association, and hold another meeting with the object of taking further action.
