ASSOCIATION.
W.F.A. COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the Wellington Football' Association was held last evening, Mr. H. N. Holmes presiding. A letter was received trom the secretary of the Auckland Association, suggesting August 23 or September 3 as suitable dates for the- return match Auckland Fourth Division representatives v. Wellington, to bo played'at Wellington—Referred to the Boys' Sub-Committee to deal with.
The Marlborough Association wrote asking that a boys' representative team should visit Blenheim this season.—Referred to the Boys' Sub-Committeo to make arrangements. For playing a boy over wc tho Institute Sixth Division team protested against Rambler's win on Saturday last, 'iho matter, was held over until further details come to hand. Tho Kelburrio Club entered a team for the Sixth Division championship.
WEDNESDAY COMPETITION. At Miramar yesterday afternoon Hearts A defeated Hearts B by 10 goals to 4. Union also defeated Y.M.C.A. by 2 goals to nil.
SCHOOL GAMES. The following aro tho fixtures and referees for Saturday morning's, school games:— Johnsonvillo v. Wadestown, at Anderson Park, at 10 a.m.; Mr. Mutter. Thorndou v. Karori, at Anderson Park, at 11 a.m.; Mr. Mutter. ■ Marist Brothers v. South Wellington, at Duppa Street No.-1; Mr. M. Kirschberg. _ ■ ' , . To Aro v. Rosencntb, at Duppa Street No. 2; Bro. Fredrick. Tho now Kelburne Club will play Amokura At Kelburne Park at 1.-15 p.m. on Saturday, under Sixth Division rules, and Y M.C.A. will play Wanderers at Duppa Street No. 2, under Second Division, rules.
PURCHASING A GROUND.
KILBIRNIE SOUTH FAVOUKED. There aro now about 1200 players taking pari in the Association game in Wellington aud, last evening, a meeting was called to., discuss proposals for the purchase of a ground in Wellington. About 200 people were' present and the sub-coin-mittco appointed for the purpose, presented their scheme for the purchase of this ground to the meeting. Mr. H. IN. Holmes occupied the chair. The proposal put forward was that thj Wellington Football Association shouu, form themselves into a limited liability 'company with a capital of iSOOO, consisting of 3000 shares of £1 each, the sum of "s. to be paid, on application, Is. on allottment, and Is. monthly. It was stated that .£I4OO would bo called up, the balanco to remain on mortgage. The proposed ground was situated in South Jvilbirnie, behind the old brickworks and measured 693 feet by 312. It was proposed to make a C6ft. entrance from Leslie Street which was about 15 or 20 yards from the Kilbimie tram terminus. The ground is within easy distance of town, and. on the twopenny section. It' was said that two full-sized grounds could be mado on the property. After considerable timo had teen occupied in-discussion (in which those present expressed their views very freely) it was decided, on the motion of Mr. B. L..Salmon, seconded by Mr. J. lnce, that the Management Committee of the W.F.A. be instructed to proceed with negotiations in connection with purchasing the ground in Kilbimie South,- and that a working committee be set- up consisting of tho secretaries of senior clubs and others, .with a view to putting a more definite scheme before the clubs in regard to the l said ground. I The sum of ,£6OO was guaranteed in the room.
