KENT TERRACE CHURCH.
ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual meeting of tho congregation Bf the Kent Ten-ace Presbyterian Church, was held in the .schoolroom last evening, there being an attendance of about 150 members and adherents. The Rev.,J.- K: Elliott, 15.A., .minister- of. the' congregation, presided,;'■. The- annual report .'and lialqjicc-slieefc.'. (previously 'published 'in •The Dominion) were read and adopted; Mr. M. Eraser- (clerk of . i,he Deacons', Court), who moved tho 'adoption of the report, and'Mr: W. M. Hannay, an elder of the church, and superintendent of the' Sunday School (who seconded the motion), spoke very eucouragingly of tho various activities of tho church, and impressed upon the congregation the necessity of fortifying its influence in the.community by reinforcing their interests and practical sympathies with theso activities. Very complimentary eulogies .were expressed upon 'the work of the pastor (luring tho year, Mr.. Hannay quoting tho opinipn of an old and tried "sermontaster" (a lady), to the effect that tho two sermons preached last Sunday by Mr. Elliott as being, the best she had ever listened to. Mr. D. Robertson also nddressed tho .gathering, and impressed upon the members of tho congregation the importance of carrying, on a. ,policy of activo recruiting for new; members. Miss Cockin dealt with the spiritual sida of tho church, and also, tho "P.W.M.U." She urged that a greater effort «h:uld be put forth this year. The Laymen's Missionary 'Movement was briefly touched upon by. Mr. H. Hor'lor, who stated that hitherto tlie women and children were mainly responsible - for missionary effort. It was now time for the men to take part. "The Youth of the Church" was tho subject of a few re-marks by Mr. Will Appleton, who dealt with the leakage between the Sabbath School and church membership. The speaker reviewed the various organisations the church had to cope with this problem, and also brought under the notice of members the need of .renewed efforts in connection with the proposed new schoolroom. Supper was then served. Musical items were contributed during the evening by Misses Evans, Scott, 0. M'DonaW, Mrs. D. R. Kennedy, and Messrs. W. Goudia and A. Smith. The organist, Mr. Gcodier, played the accompaniments. Mr. C. P. Coloncus proposed a vote of thanks, and the singing of tho Doxology terminated tho meeting.
