NEW IMMIGRATION LAWS.
AMERICA AND TOE CHINESE. Br TelcErann,—Prcsß Association—Oouyright (Eec. August 9, 11.43 p.m.) Washington, August 9. A Bill has been introduced in the Senate radically altering the immigration law. It proposes to repeal tho Chinese exclusion laws, replacing them with a law providing for the exclusion of persons not eligible to becomo naturalised citizens. Exceptions aro to be made in the case of Government officers, travellers, and members of the learned professions. It is not proposed to alter tho existing laws prohibiting the Chinese frpm becoming naturalised citizens. Boards of Inquiry aro to bo provided to decide disputed questions regarding the admissibility of aliens.
