Present indications (5 p.m. Tuesday) are for a falling barometer everywhere, with easterly winds increasing strong to gale northward of East Cape and Kawhia, and increasing haziness preceding a change in the weather shortly in those parts. •' Moderate to stron-r southeasterly winds are probable, thence to Cook Strait, and increasing westerly and northerly winds elsewhere,, with cool and changeable weather, especially on the East Coast. . The weather has been unsettled and showery on the East Coast between East Cape and Hanks Peninsula, and fair to cloudy at times elsewhere. Featherston, August B.—Southerly rain fell during last night, and the weather still continues showery. Greytown, August 8— Still showery, thermometer, «deg. at 9 a.m.; wind from the south. Hastings, August B.—The weather to-day was cold and showery.
