A NEW ZEALAND INVENTOR IN ENGLAND.

Word ha? been received, .from Mr. George Hutchinson, a well-known former resident of Wellington, that he has been successful in selling the rights for Great Britain for his patent weighing scales to Messrs. H. I'ooley and S6nj=) Ltd., of Manchester and Birmingham. The Board of Trade has adopted theso scales as complying with all their requirements and a special plant is now being installed to manufacture in a large way.

A strong syndicate has made an offer for the Australasian rights, and if this is accepted arrangements mil be made to instal a largo plant and vigorously push the sale throughout Australasia.

Mr. Hutchinson has been making scales for special purposes for. (he last two or three , years at his factory in Christchurch, and has met with unqualified success. Practically every freezing works in New Zealand and Australia has adopted these scales, and jockey clubs throughout Australasia and India have been supplied. Mr. Hutchinson expects fo go to Ger-nir-ny shortly, and then to the other European countries in which the srales are patented- As he has already been approached by Continental manufacturers, he anticipates being able to cablq jioivs of u .jaltj- before long.-rAdyt.
