The vehicles were overturned and the goods scattered on tho streets. Ail agreement has been signed ending tho Liverpool strike. It concedes recognition of tho dockers' union, and union hours of pay. The railway workers connected with Iho port authority doing shipping work have decided to join tho dockers. THE SUGAR STRIKE. Sydney, August 5. A conference of the Waterside Workers, Federated Seamen's, and Federated Carters' and Drivers' Unions has been called to be held at Brisbane on Wednesday next, to discuss matters in connection with llio sugar strike. Delegates from the other States have hurriedly left for the north. Tho conference is likely to have an important effect upon tho position. Fears are expressed jn some quarters that it may bo tho precursor of a general strike of transport workers. WORK RESUMED. (Rec. August 6, 5.5 p.m.) Cairo, August 5. Five hundred strikers have resumed work.
