In giving evidence before tile Commission which has been inquiring into the price of food, the Naturalist in the Fisheries Department, dealing with the connection between leprosy and fisheating, said the exact relationship of fish diseases and the diseases of man was little understood.' With proper ccoking there was nothing to fear', even when tho fish had internal parasites. He emphatically denied that thero was any connection between leprosy and fish, if the fish were eaten fresh or after having been treated by any method when reasonably fresh. - Mr. Frank Farnall, ex-Chairman of tho Fisheries Board, advocated the establishment of an institute for fishery experiments and experimental oyster farms. The prices now charged for fish were a distinct imposition. Fish should cost 'considerably less than fourpence a pound.
