THE JUNIOR CADETS,. The annual report on the junior cadet' forces of the Dominion, by the Commandant, Major T. W. Macdonald, was presented to Parliament yesterday. It states tlmt tho total strength of tho force, including Scout cadets, is 29,007, which is au increase of .4767 on the number in 1910. During tho year the system of compulsory training of junior cadets has come int'o operation, and as a largo amount of tho equipment in use at the time was worn out, 10,000 sets of equipment, including model rifles, belts and haversacks, 10,000 caps, and 000 jerEe.vs were purchased. Two additional officers' training Units were formed at Dunedin and at Christchurch, so that from each of the four centres there will annually bo a supply, of about 100 partially trained young teachers who will be -ready to drill tho junior cadets at their schools.' The provision and rainiaturo rifle ranges are being proceeded with expoditionsly. The Executive Committee of the Egyptian Congress has decided to send a delegate to Europe to make investigations with a view to the establishment of tho Egyptian National Bank which the congress has decided to found. Tho bank will bo purely Egyptian, foreigners only being employed whoro indispensable, and its capital it is expected will be .£2,000,000.
