Sir,—Seeing that the coming elections are close at hand I would like to ask tlio member for the Suburbs to declare himself so that we shall know who wo are voting for—a-Government candidate or nn Oppositionist (if wo support him). Personally, last election, I supported Mr. Luke, as 1 wished to voto against tho Government candidate, who was Mr. Fitzgerald; but, watching his utterances in the House, I fail to see that ho has been consistent, and he appears to act and vote as a supporter of the Government. This being so, I shall feel compelled to support someone else. Not being thoroughly, conversant with Parliament procedure I ask: Does tho fact of the Government placing Mr. Charles Luko in the Upper House intlufnco Mr. John Luke in favour of 'the present Government—if so, why?—l am, etc., AN ELECTOR-
