The return match between the Marorn (Wanganiji) and Fcilding Golf Clubs, played on the Fcilding links, was won by Feilduig by 01 to 3J games. Foi tlio quarter ending Juno 30 last there were 6555 girls and 7748 boys, a total of 1-1,603, on the primary schools' rollsin Hie Wa.nganui education district. The average attendance totalled 6040 girls and 6919 boys, a total of 12,050, or 85.74 of the roll .number. This result,, considering the great amount of sickness in parts of the district, is very encouraging. There are IS2 female adult teachers and 175 male adult teachers in the board's service; 52 female pupil teachers and 21 male pupil teachers; 19 female probationers and 4 malo probationers—a. total of 453 teachers.
