Fedinsr reference was made in Boveral of the Palmerston churches yesterday to the death of Mr. T. E. Taylor. Much interest was manifested here in the result of the sculling race between Arnst and Pearce. Much satisfaction was expressed that the New Zealander had. once more prevailed. Th« Mayor of Palmerston (Mr. J. A. Nash) is spending a few days in Taranaki. On Friday evening the employees of Dustin's, Ltd., mado a handsome presentation to Miss Tarrant, who has been a member of their staff for a number of years. The presentation was mado by Mr. D. E. Dustin. Mr. A. J. Shaler, a local breeder of collies, was successful in taking several prizes at tho Auckland dog show.
