OUTLOOK MORE FAVOURABLE. Dy Telegraph-Press Association-Copyrieht (Rec. July 29 0.5 a.m.) Melbourne, July 20. Sir. Hughes. Acting-Prime Minister, and president of tho Waterside Workers' Federation, states that the reports from tho North Queensland sugar districts are more hopeful.
The secretary of the Waterside Workers' Federation lias received a. telegram, stating that the prospects of a settlement iu the Bundaberg district are excellent.
Tho majority of the cane-growers and millers are favourable to granting reasonable terms, but tho influence of the Colonial Sugar Company is too great. A wire received from another centre is of much tho same tenor. LABOUR FUNDS FROM SYDNEY. (Rec. July 28, 9.10 p.m.) Sydney, July 28. Tho secretary of the Labour Council has forwarded .£I3OO as the first New South Wales instalment in support of the Queensland sugar strikers. A RISE IN SUGAR. Sydney, July 28. Tie Colonial Sugar Company has announced a rise of ,£1 per ton in sugar, due to the rise in European markets owing to the adverse beet crops.
(Rec. July 28, 9.10 p.m.) Sydney, July 28. Tho Colonial Sugar Company has advanced prices for all sugars by £1 a ton. The prices for syrup and treacle aro unchanged.
