IN PARLIAMENT.
DAILY SUMMARY.
TRIBUTES TO A DEAD COMRADE' The House, of Representatives did a very nmisual thing yesterday in passing tho first Imprest Supply Bill of tho session wjthont any discussion. Taylor, M.P., the House would prefer to let no further business interveno before expressing tho sentiments which all felt in rogard to the deceased member. Sir James Carroll concurred in this view, and said that it had already been the subject of communications between the leaders. Tho speeches in support of the ActingPremier's motion of condolence and ap-. preciation were of a higher order than is customary in the House on such occasions, those of Sir James Carroll, Mr. Massey, and the Hon. G. Fowlds being especially noteworthy. The Council did not sit yesterday, having adjourned from tho opening day until 11 a.m. this morning for tho purpose of passing the Imprest Supply Bill,
