HOCKEY CONTEST. * The two teams, United aiid Governmont Life Insurance, who drew in the final at the hookey tournament, held nt the Stadium a fortnight ago, met again last, evening. . Play ' remained in the centre for some time, when Andrews re-, moved it into "Government Life" territory. After further play, "Government Life" reached the circle, but the United backs shifted play out of danger. Both teams then wanned up to the game, and attacked in turn, but tho spell ended without any score being put on. From tho "bully" in the next spell, "Government Life" carried play into United's twenty-five, but could not score, and H. Thompson then removed play to his opponents' goal, Arnold saving well. A good run by M'Clintcck put United on the defence, the attacking forwards losing a couple of good chances, however. United worked play down again, and H. Thompson centred, and, from a scramble, Collins scored. "Government Life" tried hard to equalise matters, but the defence could not be penetrated, and United thus proved the winners. Mr. C. P. M'Kenzio was referee.
