'Tho New Zealand Boxing Championships concluded to-night, amid great enthusiasm, and were witnessed by a largo audience. KosuUs: Bantam-weight (semi-final).—J. Leckie (Otago) heat J. Gunn (Timuru). Leckie took the "nine count," and was also warned for holding, but a deciding round was ordered, and deckle got tho verdict. I'eather-woight (semi-iiiial).—A. Goodman (Otago) beat 10. W. Chapman (Auckland); K. Trcsize (Chrislchurch) beat W. Wurm (Timaru). Middle-weight (semi-final).—L. Cade (Christclmrcli) beat D. Boreham (Dunein); A. Finnic (Dunedin) beat J. Hughes (Invercargill). Heavy-weights.—Fitzsimmons (Timaru) beat I'. Austin (Otago); P. M'Qnarrie (Southland) beat "W. M'Donald" (Southland). Light-weights (final)-C. Maxwell (Taranaki). fist. 111b., beat North (Otago), !)st. ltlb. A heavy right put North down for "nine," and he never recovered, the referee awarding the bout lo tho Taranaki man before the first round closed. Welter-weight (final).—ll. Withey (Otago), ICst. Gib., beat J. Thompson (Ohi'istchureh), lOsfc. lib., after an excellent display. Feather-weight (final).—A. Goodman (Dunedin) beat W. Wurm (Timaru). Both men took their respective corners, but Wurm announced that he was unable to fight without a band on, which was prohibited under tho rules, and Goodman accordin»lv was declared the winner. Middle-weight (final).—L. Cado (Christchurch), list. lib., beat A. Finnie (Otago), list. 31b. From the gong Finnie showed aggressively, but Cade, towards the close of the round, floored his opponent twice witli right swings. Cade was the fresher man at the end of the second round, and generally showed "headier" work. Bcavv-weight (final).—P. M'Quarno (Southland), 12st. 31b., beat S. Fitzsimmon3 (Timaru), 12st. 31b. The go was - a strcnuons one, and I'itzsimmons gamely took a lot of severe punishment. . Bantam-weight (final).—.l. Lcckic (Otago), Bst., heat Andrews (Wcstland), Maxwell (New Plymouth) was awarded the medal for the most scientific boxer, Leckia (Qtago) being runner-up. Mr. Hazlett was referee, and Messrs. Jh?i and M'Donald. judges.
