WORKS AND FINANCE. The Wellington Harbour Board met lait evening, 'mere were present: Messrs. 1(. Fietcher (chairman.*, i\ C. l-'ieeiii, J. U. lU'hwau, A. Al'l'iu-itme, J. Uobb«, J. U. Harkness, At. Cohen, <J. F. Dauiell, A. il. Uindmarsh, C; W. Jones, J. Trevor, J. F. Fitzgerald, H. C. Tewsky, ami R. C. Keiiner. The chairman reported:— That as provided by Clause 3, Section 7, of rue Vveilington Harbour Board Keci.v luation and Empowering Act, 1908, tho Miramar Borougn Council had closed Queen's Terrace, Miramar, as rrom July G, 1911. That the Miramar Borough Council had paid'the first of the five annual payments of ~£IOOO subsidy in connection with the board's works at Miramir, as provided by the agreement of September 21; 1908, between the board and the council. That after consultation with representatives of the employees, the tender of Messrs. James Smith, Limited, had teen accepted for uniforms for the twelve months ending Juno 30, 1912, and the lender of Messrs. Charles Hill and Sons for uniform caps for the same period. The report was adopted.

The Wharves and Accounts Committee recommended the board to affix its seal ti foreshore licenses as under:—No. 100, H. Groucher, for boat shed and skids at Evans Bay; No. 101, A. H. Mitchell, for boat shed and skids, at Evans Bay. To affix the seal to deed of grant from the Minister for Railways giving tho board permission to lay a gas pipe under the railway line nt To Aro station. To adopt the engineer's report re board's .fire appliances, and to give effect (n his proposal to iustal the keichel tire alarm in the bond and office buildings.- The recommendation'; were approved.

The bank pass'books showed:—Current account, credit balance, .£21i,772 19s. 4d.; imprest account, credit balance, .£Ol7 4s. 2d.: on fixed deposit, .£70,000.
