CITY SLAUGHTERING.
EEPOET FOB JUNE. Reporting upon operations at the muni-, cipal abattoir the manager (Mr. J, C. Mackley) states that during the month of June the following >tock was slaughtered: 215 cows, 5H bullocks and ■ heifers, 11 bulls, '1122 sheep, 207- lambs, 30 pig?, and 28 calves. Of these, 27 cows, 12"bullocks, 1 bull, and 21 sheep were condemned. Tho fees received on stock slaughtered at the abattoir amounted to .£l6O lGs., a. decrease of X 3 Is. on the previous month. The fees received from meat export slaughterhouses, on meat sold within the abattoir area, amounted to JEM 7 7s. 5d., an.increase of 18s. on the previous month. The sum collected on the tale of offal and runners was .£ll9 Gs. fid., a decrease of £G 6s. sd. for Juno. , The sum received for the cleaning of tripe,' calves' heads, feet, etc., was.JilT- 15s. Gd., making tho total revenue for the month of Juno £155 ss. Bd.
There was an increase in the slaughtering for tho month of 41 cattle and 28 pig?,- and a decrease of 362 sheep, 121 lambs, and 21 calves. The.stock slaughtered was of prime quality with the exception of 200 cows, and 11 bulls which were slaughtered for boning purposes. The ihcreaso of stock slaughtered for June, 1910, was 477 calt'.e, 2057 sheep, ami 17 pigs, and the • decrease 43 lambs and G calves. Tho lees on stock slaughteredat the abattoir increased by JJS2 4s. 10(1. for the latter month.' Fees received from meat export slaughterhouses were less by .£7o' Ss. Gd.. in' June, 1911, than in June, 1910. An increased sum of .£sl Is. 4d. was received last riionth on the Sale of offal. and runners. Fees as a whole'increased by ,OSO 13s. 2d.,' as compared with June,' 1910.
