ISLAND MASSACRE.
BOATS CHEW HACKED TO PIECES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Oopyrizht (Eeo. July 25, 9.30 p.m.) Sydney, July 25. Advices from the New Hebrides state in connection with the recent massacrp that J[. Nicholas, a French trader, sent a boat's crew of three natives to' buy yams on Malekula. Tho bush tribes shot three of the natives dead. The tribesmen then hacked the bodies to pieces, and hoisting the heads and limbs on poles, paraded the beach.
