KELBURNG CLUB'S ANNUAL REPORT. •Tiie following report will come up for consideration at the annual meeting of the Kolburno Bowling Club to be Held ou J.'riuay evening:— "In placing before shareholders their -«aj ,11, ma, your directors desire to place on record their satisfaction with tho decision of the members at the last annual meeting to change the status of tho club registered to a limited liability company, 'the change has been effected, and members have already been notified by circular ot the steps taken to bring this about. As indicated, all the old debts « the registered club have been paid; ,£35 m debentures handed in to the club by members; £1% in debentures paid off; and .ElGa of debentures converted into preiJ re S?S Pn sha f r I 0S - , Ti V comipnr's mortgage s .U<CO; the bank overdraft Xm 17s. lid.; and preference share capital ir'TT Your directors have no hesitation in "expressing the opinion that the club has never been on a more substantial footing than it is at present. At Hie same time it is their duty to point out that to maintain .this position, and to obviate tho raising of .the annual subscription, an increased membership is absolutely necessary and.they would earnestly-urge that the hearty co-operation of shareholders bo given in this direction. The Kelburno Club- was successful in carrying off the Bowling Centre's shield and trophies to each member of the team, which comprised Messrs S. G Hnmcrton, P. M'Coll, W. D. Duguid, and J. C. Williamson (skip). A Kelburne team, consisting of Me«rs R. E. Mfinley, T. Gray, M. Routloy, and A. W. Blnnchard (skip), also successfully competed for first place in the first tournnment held in tho Exhibition Stadium, each member winning a gold medal. Mr. M. Kontley was for the second lime tho successful competitor for the Dinnio challenge cup, which also carried with it the championship of the club. Mr. T. Gray was tho runner-up. The president's bowls were won by Mr. .1. C. Williamson. Mr. D. Miller, the vnnner-np. also wins a pair'of bowls. The vice-president's bowls (juniors) were won by Mr. A. Scott, with Mr. J'. M'Coll second. The thanks of tho club are tendered to Messrs. E. W. Mills and Co. and to Mr. E. S. Baldwin, who respectively donated a pair of bowks to the members proposing the largest number of new members by January last. Messrs. Knowles and A. Johnson were tho winners of these trophies. During the year tho club lost the valuable services of Mr. A. W. Knowles as secretary through press "of private business. The directors were fortunate in securing Mr. (.'. A. Marquis ..> his successor. The green has, owing to the very careful attention of tho greenkeeper, Mr. Benson ; and tho supervision of the green superintendent, Mr. A. Johnston, continued to givo the good results which characterised it during the previous season. So soon as play ceased, it was again sown and top-dressed, and there is every prospect that it will continue to givo entire satisfaction to players next season. The Companies Act proscribes Hint two members of the directorate shall retire. Messrs. Dawson and Manley arc the retiring directors. Mr. Dawson does not seek re-election. Mr. Mauley is eligible for Te-clection. Nominations, accompanied by the written consent of tho nominees, must reach Ihe secrotary, Mr. C. A. Marquis, Central Terrace, Kolburno, not later than July 21, mil. The qualifications for a director requires that ho take up five preference shares."
