SCULLING CHAMPIONSHIP.
In connection with next Saturday's race for the sculling championship of the world, the "Kcferec" says:—Keen rivalry oxists between the two camps, and l'earce is anxious to got the measure of the champion. The men go out daily about the same time, and last week, both getting on the mark simultaneously, the inevitable happened: Pearee broke awav, and quickly had a little over a length's lead from the champion. The men, watching each other keenly, kept together for a merry two miles, when I'earco found ho retained his advantage. The pacemakers were left astern. Pearee says ho was rowing strongly, but well within himself; and Arnst acknowledged that he was not loafing. The result of the dust-un, however, does not seem to put out the champion. Nothing seems to. He proceeds with his training ■"» too same methodical way,- and is satisfied that he is getting the best' out of hmiself.
