(From Our Special Correspondent.) A SCENE IN A TRAIN. Dr. Jf'Arlhur, S.M., and ilr. D.' Koir, J.P., presided at the. adjourned monthly silting ot tlie lWono Court yesterday. Alfred John Henai, Alurk I'arr, and Sydney Wallace, were charged with assaulting Thomas Breuuan, guard, and with lighting in a carriage on the 11.30 train from \Yoliington on the night of July 1. The case for the prosecution was heard last week. Mr. Polherick appeared for defendants. Evidence was given at some length, and-his Worship, addressing the lads. slsil-hi that In? was very soiry to hear of young fellows behaving in the manner described. Benai and Parr were each fined 10s., with costs 035., in default, II days' imprisonment. Wallace was lined 10s., with costs ,'lls. The case against Bromuui was dismissed. The borough inspector (Mr. W. B. Gough) proceeded against George T. -Martin for allowing three horses to wander in Elizabeth Street. The horses (it was staled) caused a great nuisance to the residents, and many complaints had been made. Tho defendant stated that somebody had been in the. habit of letting his animals out at night. A conviction was entered, with a fine of 10s., with Court costs 7s. In the civil action .7. H. Sherwiu v. VC. Siliim, a claim for ,Cl 5, judgment was given plaintiff, with costs.
